Life at Home
With a little help.
A common refrain echoed by seniors in later stages of life is that their daily living has become less fulfilling. Spending less time socializing with friends and neighbors or visiting more often with children and grandchildren has left a void and a sense of loss. They express worry about the continued burdens of maintaining their home, and they no longer drive a car. Some of those seniors acknowledge that chronic health conditions have caused physical or some mild cognitive decline to a point that it deprives them of an ability to perform daily living tasks unaided by a family member or paid caregiver. Home care is brought in to assist with daily living activities, but mom remains socially isolated, safety remains a primary concern, particularly stairs or slipping in the bathroom, and the care has become quite costly.
